Dolores Guerrero was born March 9, 1928, in Bisbee, Arizona to Jose and Josefa (Garcia) Morales. She passed away January 7, 2013 in Riverside, California.
As a young girl, Dolores moved with her family to Los Angeles, California. She grew up and went to school in Los Angeles, attending Roosevelt High School. She married Manuel Guerrero on Halloween, October 31, 1952, in Los Angeles. Together they made their home in La Puente, California, where they raised their six children. They eventually made their home in Whittier, California.
Dolores enjoyed singing, playing the piano and reading. Her greatest love, however, were her children and grandchildren. They remember her as a kind, generous person who was humble and selfless. She always put the needs of others first. They also recall that Dolores did not speak ill of others, regardless of her sentiments. A life-long Catholic, Dolores found comfort in always carrying her rosary.
Mrs. Guerrero is survived by daughters, Yvonne Kohutek, Nancy Polloreno, and Caroline Guerrero; sons, Manuel and Daniel Guerrero; brothers, Joseph, David and Francisco Morales; ten grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Guerrero, daughter, Susanne Dennis; sister, Artemisa Renteria; and brother, Carlos Morales.
