Dellea L. Porter

Dellea Lorraine Porter was born on May 30, 19 39 in Ventura, California. Dellea passed away on June 9, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.Dellea was a 70 year resident of Whittier , graduating from Whittier High School in 1957. She was a loving homemaker for many years before joining the work force at 38 years old. She worked many years in the corrugated box industry before retiring at the age of 58.She loved the City of Whittier. She spent many hours volunteering with city events; she even volunteered at the Whittier Historical Museum for many years after retirement. Dellea was a member of the Whittier Emblem Club and worked on several committees in regards to city events. She enjoyed spending her free time attending musicals and plays at the La Mirada Theatre, attending her grandkids sporting events, and reading novels.Dellea will be missed for her caring and thoughtfulness to others. She will always be remembered for the smile on her face, her contagious laugh, and how she would always make people around her feel so happy.A memorial service for Dellea will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00AM at White Emerson Mortuary, located at 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA.
