David Rico

David Rico, 46, passed away on June 23, 2021. He was born on September 30, 1974 in Los Angeles, CA. He was the loving husband to Jessica Rico, and the proud father of his two sons, David A. Rico and Santiago I. Rico. He will be deeply missed by his family, and those who knew him.

He spent majority of his childhood in Guadalajara, Jalisco MX, and during his teenage years, he eventually moved to Long Beach, CA, where he graduated from Millikan High School. Shortly after high school, he attended Harbor Occupational Center in San Pedro, CA, where he received his refrigeration certification. For most of his career, he worked as a refrigeration mechanic and crane mechanic in Long Beach Container Terminal at the Port of Long Beach. He was an incredibly hard worker, an extremely dedicated, and respected longshoreman. David was married to his wife, Jessica for 20 years. Together they had their two sons, David & Santiago.

David loved staying active, especially if it meant being outdoors. He loved camping, riding quads, going boating, and swimming. He enjoyed working out and going to the movies. He was into DIY (do it yourself) projects, including working on his cars. He was always generous in helping others, which speaks to the kind of man, and the quality of character that he possessed. David was a jokester and played pranks on his family and friends. He owned the dance floor at any party and was not afraid of a good karaoke night. Additionally, above all his interests, David was most passionate about spending time with his family, and his friends. He was a man of faith, David was a devoted Catholic, and a true family man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was everyone's first call.

David is survived by his wife, his sons, his parents, siblings, and countless loved ones who were fortunate to have known him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10:00am to 2:00pm at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA. The family requests that any flowers sent to the service be white and green.
