Martinez, Bobby Martinez, Thomasita Martinez, Connie Sandoval, and Patricia Bustos. David

Sandoval, Valerie Sandoval, Amanda Alvarez, Alfonso Alvarez, Jr., Noah Martinez, Alicia
Maldonado, Joseph Martinez, Avery Martinez, and loving great-grandfather to Damien
Sandoval, Jasmine Sandoval, Ziah Castrellon, Sebastian Castaneda and Isabella Castaneda. He
passed away on July 8th, 2023 at the age of 73 surrounded by his loved ones.
David was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1949. As a young teenager, David’s family moved
to New Mexico and at 16 years old, David’s adventurous spirit brought him to California where
he met his wife, Lorenza, and together they raised their family.
David explored various interests throughout his life until he discovered his passion as a
contractor. Working with his hands and fixing things brought him immense satisfaction. David
also enjoyed working on his cars and loved his classic blue Ford truck. David found solace in the
outdoors and took every opportunity to go camping or just for a drive to the Azusa Canyon or
Big Bear mountains. Whether it was the Azusa Canyon, the Sequoias, Yosemite, or Lake Tahoe,
being surrounded by nature's beauty and his family, brought David serenity and contentment.
David loved the Raiders and the Dodgers. He loved watching a good Dodger baseball game.
David loved to barbecue, as he was known for his delicious ribs that were a special treat for the
entire family.
David was a proud grandfather and great grandfather. His pride and love for his grandchildren
knew no bounds, and he enthusiastically encouraged them in all their pursuits, whether it was
cheering on the girls at their cheerleading performances or sharing their joy on the dance floor.
He attended every one of his grandsons’ baseball and football games and almost never missed a
game.
David's great-grandkids held a special place in his heart, and he relished every moment spent
with them, showering them with love and affection. Family gatherings were a source of
immense joy for him, and he cherished each opportunity to create lasting memories. He loved listening to country, R&B, and oldies, while also enjoying some beers with his compas
and just spending time with family.
David possessed a big heart and an unwavering desire to help others. His actions were driven by
kindness and love, leaving a lasting impression on the lives he touched.
David Martinez will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but we are grateful he is no
longer in pain and is with the Lord, his heavenly father on his next adventure, hopefully sitting
by a lake in heaven with a Budweiser in hand, and smiling down on his family as a guardian
angel watching over all of us. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the
cherished memories of those who knew him and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace
with Jesus Christ our Savior who forgives, loves and redeems.
