David Dave James Knox was born on September 17, 1942 in Waterbury, Connecticut to Gerald and Evelyn Knox. His parents raised him and his two younger sisters in Northfield, Connecticut.
At the age of 18, Dave was driving through the small town of Thomaston and drove past a young lady, Sharon Picco. Daves invitation was short and sweet, Would you like to go for a ride? She agreed and it was a ride indeed. He made her his wife on October 3, 1960 and the two were married for nearly 53 years.
Dave and Sharon had a son, David Jr. and a daughter, Tina. In 1967, the family moved to California where Dave opened a plastics and plating manufacturing business in Santa Fe Springs, Dave Knox Plastics which remains family owned and operated to this day.
Besides his business and his family, Dave was an avid golfer and was involved at Candlewood Country Club in Whittier for 22 years. He participated in countless tournaments and events at the club. Dave was a loyal man with high integrity who enjoyed routine in life including eating out with family on Friday nights and sharing life and orange soda with Frank on Tuesdays evenings.
Several months after his cancer diagnosis, in the early morning of August 23, 2013, in his home in La Mirada, Dave went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, their two children, David (Cheryl) Knox, Jr., Tina (Bryan) Bush, his seven grandchildren, Ashly, Jacob, and Mathew Knox, Elizabeth, Joshua, Sarah, and Hannah Bush and his younger sister, co-worker, and friend Brenda Dayton.
