Darlene Engler

Darlene Engler was born May 24, 1938 in Crested Butte, Colorado to Joseph and Cecilia Schafer. She passed away June 28, 2010 in La Mirada, California.Darlene grew up in La Habra, CA. She attended gradeschool at St. Mary's in Fullerton, CA and graduated from Marywood High School in Anaheim, CA. Following high school, Darlene attended Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA.Darlene married Richard Engler in Las Vegas, and together they traveled far and wide.During her life, Darlene lived in several communities throughout LA and Orange counties. She worked in the insurance industry for 50 years, retiring only due to ill health.Mrs. Engler had an inquiring mind...she attended many different classes and seminars, and she loved to read. She was active in her church for as long as she was able.Darlene is survived by one sister, Barbara White.Viewing will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601, followed by a Vigil Service at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday morning, July 9, 2010 at Beatitudes of Our Lord Church, 13013 S. Santa Gertrudes Ave., La Mirada, CA 90638.
