Coletta Polly Marie Haviland, 93, passed away peacefully at her residence in Whittier on Wednesday evening, April 4, 2018. Born on September 20, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio, Coletta was born to her parents, Herman & Carmelia (Scarl) Rossi. She was married to Cecil Glen Haviland on August 17, 1956, and she had three children, Darlene, Jeff & Kevin. She will be missed by her family and all those who knew her.

Polly spent her youth growing up in Cleveland. After graduating from high school, she worked as a typist and bookkeeper during the years of WWII. In her late twenties, she moved to Hollywood, California where she could enjoy the sunshine. During this season of her life, she met and married her husband, Cecil and began her family. She was blessed with three children and five grandchildren.

Among her many interests in life, Polly loved sewing and embroidery work. She also loved reading; keeping her mind active. She was a wonderful host and loved entertaining guests. And traveling kept her spirit feeling young. She was very active in her Catholic faith as she was involved for many years at St. Marys Catholic Church in Whittier.

Polly is survived by her three children, Darlene, Jeff & Kevin; and her five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil (2012).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 9:30am at St. Marys Catholic Church, Whittier.
