Christine M Van Voorhis Outhier was born September 30, 1955 to Ross Parker Van Voorhis and Mildred Alberta Copley. She is the 2nd child and first daughter. She was born in Lynwood, Ca and the family resided in Anaheim, CA. At age 3 the family moved to La Habra where she lived until her marriage.
She attended Olita Elementary School, Rancho Canada Intermediate School and Lowell High School. She met her husband-to-be on the school bus while being taken to the graduation all-night party.
She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April of 1975. She attended Cypress College and studied Child development and Education. She also volunteered at an Elementary school.
She and Ron were married on September 9, 1978 in the Los Angeles Temple.
She became a mother on June 23, 1978, receiving son Aaron Joel into the family. Daniel Coert was born July 21, 1981 and David Ronald joined the family on January 18, 1983. She is survived by her 3 sons, her husband, her daughter-in-law Kahale'ea'okekaulike, her granddaughter, Christine and her brothers Michael and Jeffrey.
She had a passion for Family History research and traced family lines into the 1500s.
She worked front-office for a medical group until the 2nd child was born, then became a full-time mother and home-maker. When the boys were all in school she volunteered In the classroom of son number 2, Daniel until and Instructional Assistant's position opened and she was hired to work at Ceres School where she worked for more than 30 years.
She was active in her church and served in many different callings, including Primary President and Counselor to the Relief Society President.
She contracted diabetes in the late 1990s and the long-term effects of the disease caused her passing.
She graduated from this life with High Honors.
