Armida Alcaraz

Armida Alcaraz was born on October 19, 1931 in Brawley, California to Ascension and Lucina Alvarez. She and her two brothers were raised in Imperial County until they moved to Los Angeles county for school.



Armida married Robert Alcaraz, Jr and the two raised their two daughters Rachel and Vivian in Whittier.



Robert describes Armida as a very good mother and a hard worker. The family faithfully attended church and were most recently involved in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Whittier.



Throughout her life, Armida had many friends and took great care of her children and extended family. She was very put together and organized and always had a meal prepared for those she loved.



Armida suffered from illnesses off and on for a few years and passed away in Whittier in the early morning of October 30, 2013 just 11 days after her 82nd birthday. She leaves behind her loving husband Robert, her two daughters Rachel (Eddie) Na and Vivian Lopez, her grandchildren Eddie and Ellyse Na, Nicholas Barrett, Anthony, Gabrielle, Madison and Aaron Lopez, her nieces Geralyn, Elizabeth and Loretta Carranza and many friends.



There will be a Vigil service held at White Emerson Mortuary on November 4, 2013 at 7:00pm, a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10:00am followed by Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
