Antonio "Tony" Ortiz, age 81 passed away on January 20, 2022 at his home in Whittier, CA. Tony was born to Ernesto & Louisa (Moreno) Ortiz. He met his wife, Eileen Price right after high school at a movie theater. They soon married at a small chapel in Montebello, CA on January 13, 1962. Together they had three children, Antonio (Tony) Jr, Rickey and Vincent Ortiz. He was a faithful and fun loving man who loved his family very much.
Growing up in East Los Angeles, Tony was one of nine siblings. With such a full household it was easy and natural for him to be very loyal to his family and always enjoyed having a good time. He was always cracking jokes and carried a HUGE sense of humor.
He was such a likable "Guy" with a big heart and a captivating smile.
Tony was a barber by trade for over 40 years and was very good at attending to his clients. He had a welcoming demeanor and enjoyed chatting with his clients while cutting their hair. He was very good at working and talking at the same time. On his days off from work, he enjoyed visiting his siblings and spending time with his family, he loved to BBQ and make tamales once a year with his wife Eileen. This was their annual tradition.
Tony is survived by his wife, Eileen; his 3 children Tony, Jr (Melinda), Rickey (Priscilla), Vincent (Yvonne) Ortiz; 13 grandchildren, Candice (Luke), Jennifer (Arnol), Brittany, Albert, Daniel (Jackie), Vincent (Lacey), Ashley, Natasha (David), Ryan, Matthew, Rickey Jr, Katelynn and Riley; 8 great-grandchildren, Luke, Emily, Jakob, Daniel Jr, Adeline, Everette, Noah and Dawn.
A viewing will take place at White Emerson Mortuary @ 7:00 - 10:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022 and the Funeral mass wiill be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Bruno Catholic Church, interment will follow the mass at Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, CA
Tony will be greatly missed and his memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
