Annie Leon

Anita Annie Lopez Leon was born on June 5, 1928 in La Habra, California to Enrique and Maria Lopez. Annie married Ralph Leon in 1951 and the two shared their lives together. She and Ralph danced together and always provided an open house to their family and friends. Their weekly routines included faithfully attending Saturday night Mass at St. Hilarys in Pico Rivera and then spending Sundays visiting family. Ralph and Annie were known for their generosity. After over 57 years of marriage, Ralph went home to be with the Lord in 2008.



Annie was passionate about her family and about God. Both of these passions were evident in her uplifting spirit and constant encouragement. She was lovingly nicknamed Aunt Nana for her kind personality. Her family could frequently find her cleaning the house and singing while listening to Connie Frances or Patsy Cline. And no matter what she was cooking, there was always plenty to share.



Of all Annies passions in life, she was most passionate about travelling the world. This love of travel took her to the pyramids of Giza to the ruins of Machu Picchu. She was a very accomplished traveler who always encouraged her children and grandchild to follow in her footsteps. Annie was very good at making the most of her life and seeing and experiencing all that she could.



During the early morning of May 25, 2013, Annie went home to be with the Lord at her home in Pico Rivera, California. She is survived by her daughter, Linda, granddaughter Priscilla, great-granddaughter Quinn, brothers Ben and Louie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.



A Vigil service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 7pm at White Emerson Mortuary in Whittier, California and a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11:30am at St. Hilary Church of Perpetual Adoration in Pico Rivera, California followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Rowland Heights, California.
