Angel C. Martinez was born on October 1, 1928 in Long Beach, California to Tranquilino and Lila (Guevara) Martinez. He entered eternal life peacefully on April 14, 2017 (Good Friday) in Fullerton, California, at the age of 88.



He was married to Rosa C. Martinez for 57 years, the love of his life, who preceded him in death in January 2016, and also preceding him in death were his parents, his siblings, Benita, Raymundo, and David. Surviving siblings are Paulo Martinez, Angela (Frank) Aranda, Carlos Martinez, Antonio (Catalina) Martinez, Mary Skiles, Carmen Archuletta, Ramon (Wilma) Martinez, Rita (Manuel) Alanis, his sister and brother-in-law Maria and Tony Gomez and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.



After graduating from Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California, he entered the military (Army) and served in Korea as a telephone lineman. Utilizing his military service he attended the University of Southern California where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (the first in the Martinez family to do so). He was employed and retired from Byron Jackson-Flowserve as an engineer where he traveled around the world and where he especially enjoyed living with his wife in Holland from 1964-65 with additional travel in Europe. He resided most of his married life in La Habra, California with his wife Rosa where they were active in their parish community at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church as well as their involvement in the Orange Catholic Foundation and the Knights of Columbus.



Angel Martinez was a humble and great family man who loved his wife, family, and his church and all the love he received from God he shared with Rosa and all his family. He will be dearly missed.
