Alpha Overin passed away July 1st, 2016 in Whittier at 92. She taught overseas and here at home in the East Whittier School District for 25 years. People, children, plants, books, games and charities were her specialty.



She is predeceased by two loving husbands, James R. McGee and Courtenay S. Overin. She is survived by daughters, Mary M. Chapman & Melinda McGee, grandson James M. Shaughnessy & great granddaughter, Leila N. Shaughnessy. Step daughters; Holly Overin, Wendy Overin,

Cheryl Heneveld & Kathleen Slobin.



A Celebration of Alpha's life will be held Monday Sept 19th 1:30 pm at First Friends' Church, Whittier.
