Adriana Boulem

Adriana Boulem, 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in Orange, California. Viewing is scheduled from 5-7pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA. A vigil service will be led immediately following at 7pm. Mass will be celebrated at 12:30pm the next day, Friday, May 19, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 10727 Downey Ave, Downey, California. Private interment will occur at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Adriana was born February 16, 1941, in Scalea, Italy, to Carmine and Vincenzina (Ferrara) Luongo. The sixth-born of twelve, she enjoyed the love and friendship of ten sisters and one brother. Adriana grew up and went to school in Scalea. As a teenager, Adriana moved to Toulon, France. There she met the love of her life, Joe Boulem. Adriana and Joe were married in Toulon on February 20, 1960, and made their home in Toulon.

In August, 1963, Adriana and Joe, along with their son, Robert, immigrated to the United States and settled in Downey, California. Their daughter Patricia was born a few months later. Downey remained their home since that time.

A beautiful person!

Adriana was a loving and nurturing wife and mother with a kind heart. She was also wise. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Adriana's loved ones were always her number one priority. They were her greatest joys. She especially loved taking care of them, and making them happy. She was always there for her family. They were ever so precious to her. She was very supportive to her husband, children and grandchildren. Her heart was full of warmth.

Adriana also loved cooking in her kitchen. And nobody enjoyed a cup of coffee more. She also enjoyed spending time gardening. She adored flowers and had a lovely green thumb.

Adriana will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Adriana will always be remembered.
Adriana will be cherished and live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever!

A legacy of love is left to her surviving husband, Joe Boulem; children, Robert (Carrie) Boulem and Patricia Hankla; six grandchildren, Brittlyn Boulem, Matthew Boulem, Briannne Boulem, James Hankla, Baylee Boulem, and Marc Boulem; and seven sisters, Natalina, Guseppine, Carmelina, Mariella, Emir, Iris, and Fulvia.
