ADELINE ARAUJO
(September 22, 1945 - February 22, 2021)
Beloved Adeline (Palomino) Araujo passed away on February 22, 2021 surrounded by her husband and five children in Moreno Valley, California at the age of 75. Born to the late Louis and Rose Palomino on September 22, 1945 in Lynwood, California. She was a longtime resident of Whittier, California. She graduated from Sierra High School in Whittier in 1963, where she met Manuel M. Araujo, her high school sweetheart, and the love of her life. They were married on April 29, 1967 at St. Gregory the Great Church. They started their life together, welcomed five children and raised them with love and devotion.
Adeline was a great support to her family by caring for her children, parents, and grandchildren. She was a great cook and baker, with recipes that won't be replicated without the love she put into them. She thoughtfully sewed treasures for her loved ones; she liked playing cards, Words with Friends, Scrabble, and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed taking and collecting family photos, going to church, dancing with her husband, and spending time with her family.
Adeline will be remembered as a devoted wife, selfless mother, beautiful sister, adoring grandmother, joyful aunt, and special friend, who always had a smile on her face, even in tough times. Her quick wit and clever sense of humor delighted those around her. There was never a shortage of pleasant conversation.
Adeline was ever calm and serene in her Catholic faith. She witnessed many Sacrament celebrations of her children and other family members through the years at St. Gregory the Great Church. She loved and lived every moment she was given, always graceful, until God called her home.
Adeline is survived by her husband of 54 years, Manuel M. Araujo; children, Susan (Matt) McDowell, Manuel J. (Rose) Araujo, Valerie Araujo, Wanda Araujo (Oscar) Valenzuela and Monica Rose (Joe) Lopez; grandchildren, Jake (Jaylee) McDowell, Mark McDowell, Ty McDowell, Bryan (Chanelle) Araujo, Bernice Araujo, Madeline Stine, Violet Valenzuela, Joey Lopez and Jesse Lopez; four great-grandchildren and her remaining nine siblings and their families.
The Rosary will be held at Holy Family Church (566 S. Glassell Street, Orange) on Tuesday, March 9th at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 10th at St. Gregory the Great Church (13935 Telegraph Road, Whittier) followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery (2161 Fullerton Road, Rowland Heights)
